Abstrak
Abstract
Water is a source of basic needs that are important for the lives of humans and
other creatures, one of which is used as drinking water. Drinking water is water
that goes through a treatment process or without a treatment process that meets
health requirements and can be drunk directly. Water that is usually used as
drinking water by the community includes groundwater or well water and the
Water Supply Company. Water used as a source of drinking water must meet
good water quality standards in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of
Health of the Republic of Indonesia No.492 / Menkes / PER / IV / 2010. Drinking
water that is safe for health is one of them if it meets the chemical requirements.
Chemical parameters of drinking water one of which can be seen from the Florida
ion content. Fluoride ion levels in sea water around 1.2-1.5 mg / L. Generally
springs and well water contain higher concentrations of fluoride ions than surface
water such as lakes and rivers. Where Fluoride ion levels in well water around
0.4-1.4 mg / L. And the levels of Fuorida ions in fresh water around 0.01-0.3 mg /
L. Increased levels of fluoride ions can be caused by human activities such as
fluoridation in water, waste disposal and industrial activities. According to the
World Health Organization (WHO) in 2010 the Florida ion had a beneficial effect
on health by strengthening teeth and bones if the levels were around 0.7 mg / L,
while according to the Minister of Health Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia
No.492 / Menkes / PER / IV / 2010 Florida ions are very dangerous if the levels
are more than 1.5 mg / L. Increased levels of fluoride ions exceeding the limits set
on water sources used as drinking water by the community can cause health
problems including fluorosis of bones and teeth.
