Abstrak

Abstract Agarwood is a plant with a variety of benefits. Some parts of the plant like the roots and branch have activity as antimicrobial and antioxidants. The objectives of this study were to find out antimicrobial and antioxidant aktivity of ethanol extract of roots and agarwood branch and to know the content of the compounds. Root and agarwood branch were extracted by maceration method using 96% ethanol. An antibacterial activity test was used in 10 series of concentrations for the extract of 1000 mg / mL; 500 mg / mL; 250 mg / mL; 125 mg / mL; 62.5 mg / mL; 31.25 mg / mL; 15.62 mg / mL; 7.81 mg / mL; 3.90 mg / mL; 1.95 mg / mL. The results of antimicrobial activity of root ethanol extract and agarwood branches showed activity as antimicrobial against Stapylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and fungi Aspergillus. While on antioxidant activity test of root ethanol extract and agarwood branch have activity as antioxidant. From the screening results showed samples of roots and branch of gaharu containing flavonoids, saponins and tannins. Key words: Agarwood, Antimicrobial, Antioxidant, DPPH Methode, Agar Diffusion Methode
